Course Description
Do you struggle when communicating with others in English? In today’s society, English is the most commonly used language. Speaking clear and concise English is an essential skill that everyone in the workplace should have for effective communication. In our course, Better Spoken English for Div 2 and 3 Officers, we will teach you how to speak better English so you can be better understood by your colleagues and clients.
Within this 2-day workshop, participants will understand how to speak clear and concise English as well as how to listen to others effectively. Participants will also learn the differences between written and spoken English and understand the correct voicing for commonly mispronounced words.
Course Objectives
By the end of the workshop, participants would be able to:
- Speak better English that is immediately understood
- Speak clearly and expressively
- Project a better self-image when communicating
- Interpret if your message is understood
- Have better intelligibility in communicating
- Listen better when communicating
Course Outline
- The need for international intelligibility.
- Correct voicing of often mispronounced words
- Know the difference of spoken discourse and written texts
- Interpret and give body signals.
- Listen effectively in communication
- Respond appropriately to avoid missteps
