Course Description

Power BI continues to rock the world of analytics. It offers numerous opportunities to all businesses and sectors to drive digital transformation for increased growth and profitability. With built-in visualisation tools, it accelerates data interpretation and data visualisation, turning information into actionable insights in minutes.

Whether you are a complete beginner exploring Power Bi basics or have used the platform before, this course will teach you how to construct interactive dashboards and how to interpret the different elements in the Power BI dashboard while following best practices of storytelling with data.

You will be working with data from open-source websites, shaping it with Power Query to build a reliable data model, analysing trends that lie with that data, and creating visuals to communicate the results through clear data presentation and data display that are intuitive and engaging.

The two days workshop focuses on applied learning that helps you in mastering the art of using Power BI to design reports and charts that communicate data well to your key stakeholders.

FAQs

Have a few questions on your mind? See below for some frequently asked questions. Should you have further questions, please feel free to contact us.

Can I learn Power BI in 2 months?

Although a focused course is an ideal route to learn it, self-learning is also encouraged. Here is a realistic timeline: Weeks 1-2 focus on Power Query and data modelling; Weeks 3-4 on DAX basics; Weeks 5-6 on visual design and storytelling; Weeks 7-8 on a capstone dashboard shared via the Power BI Service. Consistent practice is key.

Is Power BI enough to get a job?

It helps, but employers also expect SQL basics, Excel proficiency and the soft skill of framing insights for non-technical stakeholders. Pair Power BI ability with domain knowledge to stand out.

Is Power BI hard to learn?

The drag-and-drop canvas is beginner-friendly; the learning curve spikes at data modelling (relationships, star schemas) and DAX measure logic. Once those click, building dashboards feels natural.
