If you’re managing a team in Singapore, you know that keeping skills sharp is a constant priority.

Whether it’s mastering Microsoft Office, improving Leadership skills, or exploring how Generative AI can actually save your team time, the cost of training shouldn’t be a barrier.

The SkillsFuture Enterprise Credit (SFEC) is designed to help with exactly that. It provides your company with a S$10,000 credit to cover nearly all your training costs. However, the scheme is changing soon.

At @ASK Training, we want to make sure you have the facts so you can plan your team’s growth effectively.

Here is everything you need to know about using your credits before the 2026 reset.

What is the SFEC?

Think of the SFEC as a dedicated “training account” for your business. It’s a one-off S$10,000 credit used to pay for 90% of your out-of-pocket training expenses.

When you enrol staff in a subsidised course, the government already pays a large portion of the fee. The SFEC covers almost all of what’s left, meaning your company pays very little.

Important Dates: The 2026 Update

The government is redesigning the SFEC to make it easier for businesses to use. Here is the timeline you need to follow:

Now until 30 November 2026

  • Use your existing credits. If you have a balance left from the current scheme, your training must be completed by this date to be eligible for a claim.
  • Any unused credits will expire after November 30.

From 1 December 2026

  • Eligible companies will receive a new S$10,000 tranche under the Enterprise Workforce Transformation Package (EWTP).

The Big Change

  • Currently, SFEC works on a reimbursement basis. You pay first, then claim.
  • Under the Redesigned SFEC, your funding will function like a digital wallet. The credit will be applied as an upfront offset to your invoice, so you no longer have to pay the full amount and wait for a refund later.

Knowing these dates allows your HR team to strategically decide whether to utilise remaining funds now or wait for the new upfront payment model.

Is My Company Eligible?

Before planning your training calendar, it is essential to verify that your business meets the latest government criteria for the S$10,000 credit.

Most active Singapore-registered companies qualify automatically. You likely have this credit if:

  1. You have a team: You employed at least three Singapore Citizens or PRs each month during the qualifying period.
  2. You contribute to SDL: Your company paid at least S$750 in Skills Development Levy (SDL) over the year.
  3. You are active: Your ACRA status is active.

How to check: Log in to the Business Grants Portal with your CorpPass. You’ll see your balance right on the dashboard.

Once you have confirmed your eligibility, the next step is following the correct procedure to utilise the funds.

How to Claim: A Step-by-Step Guide

Claiming your SFEC credits is a straightforward process when you follow a structured approach.

Step 1: Confirm Your Balance

  • Before planning your training, verify your balance on the Business Grants Portal.
  • Ensure your payment details, PayNow Corporate or GIRO, are updated for seamless disbursements.

Step 2: Select a Supportable Programme

  • Browse our Course Directory. All our WSQ-accredited modules are SFEC-supportable.
  • Our consultants can help you verify specific course codes to ensure a 100% successful claim.

Step 3: Enrol and Complete

  • Once enrolled, your team must meet the 75% attendance requirement and pass the assessments.
  • For Singaporean and PR employees, many claims are now automatically processed between the training provider and SSG.

Step 4: Manual Submission (If Required)

  • If you are training foreign employees or specific enterprise programmes, you may need to submit a manual claim via the SkillsFuture for Business portal.
  • Simply upload your invoice and proof of payment; once endorsed by @ASK Training, the funds are disbursed directly to your account.

Following these steps ensures that your administrative process remains as efficient as the training itself.
