Course Objectives

By the end of this course, learners should be able to: 

  1. Identify key stakeholders in email communication and apply appropriate communication techniques with consideration of the organisational positions to address stakeholder needs and respond effectively to simple queries. 
  2. Prepare meeting minutes that document stakeholder decisions and action items and apply appropriate communication techniques to engage stakeholders for post-meeting actions.  

Prerequisites

Participants should meet one of the following criteria: 

  • Possess a minimum of GCE ‘O’ Level or equivalent qualification and be at least 21 years old; or 
  • Hold a NITEC or Higher NITEC qualification and be at least 21 years old; or 
  • Be a mature candidate aged 30 and above with at least 2 years of working experience in a professional setting; or 
  • Have other qualifications that will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. 

In addition, it is recommended that participants: 

  • Have basic proficiency in written and spoken English to follow instructional content and complete written assessments. 
  • Be currently employed or have prior experience in roles requiring email correspondence or meeting participation, to contextualise learning to workplace scenarios. 
  • Be comfortable using basic word processing software (e.g., Microsoft Word) to prepare emails and meeting minutes.

    • Oral Questioning: 30 minutes
    • Written Examination: 90 minutes
