Resilience at Work: Turning Stressful Situations into Your Advantage

Have you experienced situations where you feel helpless at work and feel that no one understands your reasons for feeling stressed? Or has there been changes that have taken place abruptly without giving you much time to react and adapt such as what we are all experiencing with the ongoing pandemic? It is normal to feel overwhelmed by the recent changes that have taken place across the globe, which has accelerated digitization of work processes and messed up your normal work routines. Even prior to the pandemic enforced changes that we have experienced, change has always been one of the top reasons for stress at the workplace. In our course, ‘Resilience at Work: Turning Stressful Situations into Your Advantage’, we will dive into the different ways to building your personal resilience to deal effectively with change and the stress that comes with it.

 

Living in a volatile and uncertain world with increasing complexity and ambiguity requires you to cultivate a resilient mindset. Building up a resilient mind and body will allow you to avoid feeling helpless and stressed at work. This can help you to cope with stress effectively and keep up your productivity levels to prevent against mental burnout and other serious physical health conditions from manifesting.

In this 2-day workshop ‘Resilience at Work: Turning Stressful Situations into Your Advantage’ workshop, participants will learn to differentiate between resilient and non-resilient attitudes through case studies to help them to apply the attitudes to their own workplace situations. They will also learn how to adopt a transformational coping approach to build a more resilient mind to handle change and stress, from which they will be guided to design their Personal Resilience Blueprint. Participants will then be taught how to spread their resilient mindsets to foster team resilience at the workplace to keep workplace morale high in the face of change and uncertainty.

 

This will enable both individuals and teams to bounce back from adversity quickly and to turn stressful situations into opportunities of personal growth and enhancement.

By the end of the course, you would be able to:

  • Explain the concept of resilience and how it affects work efficacy
  • Differentiate between resilient and non-resilient attitudes
  • Appraise your personal resilience capabilities
  • Better manage your stress that results from change
  • Apply transformational coping concepts to build a more resilient mind and body
  • Devise and employ practical strategies to enhance personal and team resilience

 

Participants may consider attending the Managing Stress and Achieving Wellness course, which provides an in depth perspective of how to go about managing stress in our daily lives.
