Course Description

Do you struggle to persuade your subordinates to follow your orders? In the workplace, most of us will experience times when we need to influence and persuade others in order to get them to do things they are not willing to do. We need to apply persuasive skills in such a way that the other person will do what you want them to do willingly. In our course, Persuasive Communication for Leaders, we will teach you the different techniques and strategies you can use to improve your persuasion skills and hence enhance your leadership capabilities.

 

Within this 1-day workshop, participants will be taught how to use all of their communication skills including visual, vocal and verbal skills to become more persuasive and influential. They will also evaluate their own persuasive skills through questionnaires and discussion and prepare their own action plan to become more persuasive in the future.

Course Outline

You will be learning the following:

The difference between persuasion and other forms of influence

Understand the difference between Aggressive, passive and assertive reactions

Task focus and People focus behaviour and how it contributes to conflicts

How to enhance our visual communication, facial expression, mannerism

How to use influence and be a role model in order to persuade others

Recognising the persuasive skills of others and learning from such examples

How interpersonal skills like blending, contribute to personal success

Evaluate your won persuasive skills through questionnaires and discussion

Vocal qualities when speaking ie volume, tone and speed in conversations

Taking on different roles in order to be more persuasive in difficult situations

The importance of listening to enhance communication

Prepare your own action plan to become more persuasive in future
