Course Description

In our Crisis Management and Communication course, we aim at helping participants understand the fundamentals of planning for and managing a crisis when it occurs. Because, Many a time, organisations are caught off guarded and suffered tremendous losses, when a crisis happens. Mostly, the organisations respond poorly. Hence, they are unable to salvage the situation as much as possible. Thereafter, face a lot of uncertainties and consequences due to a lack of proper planning.

During our 1-day workshop on Crisis Management and Communication. You will learn principles and approaches to be applied in dealing with a crisis. Aspects of crisis prevention which include managing issues as they evolve and anticipating disasters will also be presented and discussed.

Additionally, there will be case studies of organizations that have dealt with crisis situations. Participants can develop a better understanding via group discussions on the lessons learned. Ultimately, participants will acquire the critical skills and knowledge required in order to plan and manage a crisis effectively.

What is a Crisis, recent global trends and perspectives.

Issues which do not need a crisis-level response.

Interdepartmental relations, data bank, spokespersons

Confidence-building versus being under siege

Dealing with the Crisis and  managing both internal and external

Group work, managing crisis communications in a given scenario

Definitions and types of crises

The cycle of crisis management and dealing with the stake holders

Prevention aspects which focus on knowledge management.

Case studies to discern the approach taken by the communications team

Make Communications Matter, guidelines on handling a crisis with empathy, accuracy

Best practices in the industry and how to adopt them
